The United States Dental Tennis Association was founded in 1969 by Sanford S. Golden, DDS, of Los Angeles, California. By 1972, the group’s membership had increased to over 200 dentists and their families, and the USDTA was officially incorporated in the Spring of 1973.

Currently, USDTA membership numbers over 300 dentists from the United States and Canada. Participation is available to dentists, dental auxiliaries, and their spouses. It is not a requirement to participate in the various tennis tournaments to enjoy membership. Members and their families can take advantage of the many unique opportunities available at each event.

As the USDTA continues to grow, members of all ages enjoy the unique combination of continuing dental education and friendly tennis competition. From its humble beginning as a small group of dedicated tennis playing dentists, the United States Dental Tennis Association has developed into a splendid, vibrant organization
